Understand Premature Ejaculation before starting treatment:

If you think that you are ejaculating too soon during sex and as a result of which you and your partner are not enjoying sexual life, then you may be suffering from the problem of premature ejaculation. Before you start any treatment of this problem, it is necessary to understand what actually is premature ejaculation and whether this condition is serious enough for you to consider a treatment at all or not. In this article we shall discuss what exactly is premature ejaculation and when it should be considered as a serious problem that requires a cure.

Premature ejaculation happens when a man ejaculates too quickly during or even before sex. If a man does not last longer and ejaculate too soon leaving him and his partner unsatisfied during sex then this is known as a case of premature ejaculation. The problem of premature ejaculation can occur can occur at any age and under any situation, but it is more commonly a problem for the younger man. The occurrence of premature ejaculation is often related to the novelty of the sexual experience (new partner or different situation) than to the man’s age. This problem has been noted to wane rapidly when sex between same couple continue for a long time as both become accustomed with each other and learn to last longer in the moment of ecstasy.

Similar to the sneezing reflex in our body, the ejaculation reflex also, is at best only partially under voluntary control. Since brain has an important role in activating and controlling various sex organs of the body, it is often considered as a psychological problem rather than a physical problem. That’s why it s one of those few common sexual problem which can be cured fully by following a suitable treatment plan.

In the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of the American Psychiatric Association Premature Ejaculation has been defined as “ejaculation with minimal sexual stimulation or before, upon, or shortly after penetration and before the person wishes it.” This definition acknowledges that there must be an element of subjectivity to the diagnosis of premature ejaculation. There is no ideal condition of premature ejaculation. It can happen before the penetration, during penetration or after penetration. It all depends upon the excitement level and psychological soundness of the person involve in penetration. Considering the duration of intercourse and the nature of the couple’s sexual interaction with each other must also be evaluated to determine the gravity of this problem. A couple who engages in 45 minutes of unrestrained manual and oral-genital foreplay, followed by one minute of pleasurable intercourse, would not be considered to be troubled by premature ejaculation. However, ejaculation after ten minutes of intercourse might be considered premature if this duration can only be achieved by avoiding all kind of foreplay; spraying the penis with a skin anesthetic; wearing three condoms; thinking unpleasant, distracting thoughts; and biting one’s tongue so the pain interferes with sexual arousal.

Premature ejaculation, though prevalent in men of all ages, is typically a younger man’s problem, with the majority of cases involving men under the age of 30. Premature ejaculation is typical for young men in their first sexual experiences and might be considered normal at this time. However, since these men have no history of successful sexual relationships to compare with their present experience of a premature ejaculation, self-blame and self-labeling can often occur. However, as the time passes, with continued sexual experience, most men eventually get over their initial premature ejaculation phase. Along with the effects of experience, as a normal physiological change in aging, the time required for a man to reach orgasm increases on its own.

Premature ejaculation does not seem to be caused by any physiological factors or medical conditions. It is primarily a psychological problem which can be cures with hundred percent success by following a systematic treatment plan in cooperation with your partner.
